Barcelona captain offers to end dispute between club and singing section

Barcelona has been in a constant battle with their loudest fans for several months, but there is no end to their dispute. That is despite the fact that some of their stars offer to solve the problem.

The Blaugrana has demanded that the singing area, transferred from Camp Nou to Montjuic, will pay the € 21k in fines that they handed over last season as a result of insults and hymns. Something that the singing section has rejected claims that the individuals must be punished instead, and not the fans as a collective.

As a result, Barcelona decided to ban the fans in the singing area to attend competitions until they do that, and have announced that they are planning reforms in the singing area. Insitutional vice-president Elena Fort has said that they want 'a different kind of zang section', with more access and younger fans.

They have not given any details about how that will be decided, but they did not give up when repairing the singing area in Montjuic. According to Cadena Ser, various Barcelona players have offered to mediate between the club and the fans, and vice-captain Raphinha even offered personally to pay the fine of € 21k to resolve the case. This is an offer that the club has rejected, despite singing every game for the singing area to come back. They say that the problem goes beyond the money itself.

Although the club says they want a different form of zang section, many believe that the problem comes back until last season, when songs from 'Barca yes, Laporta no' were heard in the Estadi Olimpic Lluis Company. From that moment on, the club seemed to take a much harder line in the singing area. In the end it seems that Barcelona and the players will lose valuable support in a season in which the team threatens success in all three major competitions.
