Barcelona Champions League winner spotted living a totally different life

A Champions League winner and former Barcelona star has surprised football fans by appearing as a shopping assistant in France.

Jeremy Mathieu, 41, enjoyed a wealth of success during his gaming career and won two LaLiga titles, two Spanish cups and a Champions League medal during his three-year enchantment in the Nou-Camp between 2014 and 2017.

The Center-Back has also received five senior caps for France on the international stage, while Sochaux, Toulouse, Valencia, Barcelona and Sporting Lisbon represent at club level.

Now, five years after he hung up his boots at Sporting, Mathieu is in a surprising way with the sport, working as an employee at the French stores Intersport.

According to L'Equipe, the former defender works in an Intersport location between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, working as one of the managers of their football department.

The store is said to receive hundreds of phone calls from football fans to visit the store to meet Mathieu, because a photo of the ex-Barcelona defender is wearing the business uniform and shown with customers online.

It is understood that Mathieu works at Intersport during training to become a football coach.

Mathieu played in 2015 during the Barcelona's Champions League triumph against Juventus in Barcelona and helped his side on a 3-1 victory that confirmed an iconic Treble under former manager Luis Enrique.
