Barcelona has a number of midfielders in their books, but it is true that it remains a position that can attract a lot of question marks Barca. Although it seems as if Frenkie de Jong will extend his deal with the club, the Blaugrana will have to be prepared if the Dutchman continues.
One of the options they looked at last year was the sporty CP Middevelder Morten Hjulmand, with the Danish international impressive under Ruben Amorim. Last year it was reported that he would probably leave this summer, and that seems that it can take place. Outside caught saying that Barcelona is one of the parties that are most enthusiastic about Hjulmand, under the will of Inter and Paris Saint-Germain on the continent.
However, because it is the case for players on the Barcelona radar, there is a strong interest from the Premier League. The same exhaust valve explains that a price of approximately € 50-60 million can be sufficient to convince Sporting to renounce Hjulmand. United has an interest in reuniting with Amorim, but would like to lower that price tag, something that has not been claimed between the two clubs so far.
That may mean that his most likely destinations are Tottenham Hotspur or Arsenal. The first are supposedly prepared to spend no less than € 80 million on a midfielder, because they want to find an alternative to Yves Bissouma, while Arsenal seem to lose Jorginho and Thomas Pareny in the summer.
Barcelona probably does not seem to be moving this summer for a midfielder for that kind of price range, with doubts about their salary limit capacity. Arsenal has also been associated with Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad as one of their top goals, so it may be that Hjulmand is an option that both like to depend on what happens to De Jong or Zubimendi.
