The first Barcelona team has had a very strong season so far, but the same cannot be said for the B team, Barca Atletic. Last season they missed the promotion to Segunda after losing in the play-off final, while this season is a serious chance of relegation.
Last summer Rafa Marquez left his position as head coach to become a member of the coaching staff of the Mexican national team. His assistant, Albert Sanchez, was appointed as his replacement, although he had difficulty replicating the form that his predecessor shown as a manager during his own term of office.
Barca Atletic is really struggling at the moment. They have not won since mid-December and, after having lost 1-0 to Zamora with Zamora on Saturday, they are unable to move themselves from the relegation zone in the first Federation Group 1.
According to Marca, there are serious doubts about Sanchez that continue as the head coach of Barca Atletic. Although the Barcelona hierarchy has not yet been made, it is reported that the 38-year-old is about to lose his position.
