In addition to a new left wing player, Barcelona wants to sign at least one defender during the remaining weeks of the summer transfer window. And a leading target for this area has emerged in recent days: Denzel Dumfries.
Dumfries, who chased Barcelona during their Champions League Semi-Final Showdown with Inter last season, emerged as a candidate to become a member of the La Liga champions. It has been reported that a relocation is considered for the Netherlands International, which is available via a release clause of € 25 million in his contract.
Barcelona's interest in Dumfries has been considered serious, although their attitude towards a transfer seems to have changed the last 24/48 hours. Marca says that no movement is planned.
According to the report, Barcelona is not considering a step for a court back this summer. Jules Kounde is the undisputed starter in the position, with his back -ups Eric Garcia and Hector Fort. Eric is mainly calculated by Hansi Flick as an understudy, so there is no desire that another player will be signed for this area.
In this respect it makes sense – especially since Barcelona cannot afford to spend € 25 million on a player that they do not consider absolutely essential. An important edition is expected from the new wing player, so it would be unlikely that funds would remain for another large purchase, given the well -documented financial misery of the club.
Luis Diaz or Marcus Rashford is expected to be signing of Barcelona the following summer, but outside of that, the turnover is being worked on by Sporting Director Deco to ensure that the club is able to register all their players at La Liga before the start of the 2025-26 season, which is going on in August.
