Barcelona confirmed that Robert Lewandowski sustained a hamstring injury on Saturday during their 4-3 victory over Celta Vigo.
Lewandowski, who made his 100th LaLiga appearance in that game, started grabbing his leg late before he had to leave the field in the 78th minute.
Barcelona did not give a timeline on his return, but Spanish media reports suggest that he could have been sidelined for three weeks.
If that is the case, he would be from next weekend's Copa del Rey final against Real Madrid and doubt him for their semi-final of the Champions League against Inter, with the first stage taking place on April 30.
“Tests conducted this Sunday confirmed that the player of the first team Robert Lewandowski is injuring the Semitendinosus muscle in his left,” Barca said in a statement.
“His return to team training depends on how the injury progresses.”
This season Lewandowski is the most important scorer in Laliga with 25 goals, three more than Kylian Mbappe from Madrid (22).
In all competitions he scored 40 goals, at least 10 more than Raphinha (30). His count comes from 147 shots worth 37.56 expected goals (XG). He has a shot conversion rate of 27.21%.
