Barcelona will face Osasuna next Thursday in a Hershot La Liga match, and they could do this without several important players. There are doubts about whether Raphinha and Ronald Araujo will be able to play if they are in action for Brazil and Uruguay, respectively less than 48 hours earlier, while Pau Cubarsi is an injury after taking a blow during the Spain match against the Netherlands.
If Araujo and Cubarsi are not available, it would be bad news for Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick. In terms of central defensive options, he would only have Eric Garcia that is a certainty available, with doubts about Inigo Martinez and Andreas Christensen, who are nursing injuries.
In terms of Inigo, he was injured last weekend during the victory of Barcelona in Atletico Madrid. The expectation is that he will be out for at least two weeks, and that would mean that he just misses that he encounters Osasuna, but the player himself is determined to be available, as sport has reported.
Inigo is working on reducing inflammation in the inner meniscus of his right knee, and he is willing to force himself if necessary to play a role for Barcelona in the Estadi Olimpic Lluis guidance.
Barcelona would like to be back and on time available to be opposed to Osasuna on Thursday, although Flick would certainly not be comfortable to play the veteran unless he is 100%. The last thing they need is to lose another important first team player for a longer period, which happened last weekend when Marc Casado was taken down – he will be out for the next two months.
It is still to be seen whether Inigo is available, but for now the chances seem to be very 50-50.
