Director of Football Deco had made his mission to ensure that none of the Senior players of Barcelona entered the last year of their contract, but it is a task that turned out to be much more difficult than he had expected.
The Catalan giants would like to renew the deals of both Eric Garcia and Frenkie de Jong, but both contracts have been given up for various reasons. In the meantime, Barcelona has decided to give Jules Kounde a new deal, although he operates right back, causing them to cross in the middle of the center.
Robert Lewandowski and Andreas Christensen are the other players who are out of contract in 2026, and although the experienced Polish striker is a unique business because of his age, the idea was to move the Danish defender this summer, to bring in some much needed funds and free space in their salary limit. La Vanguardia says that Christensen is sticking to his attitude and is planning to see his contract with the Blaugrana.
The same exhaust valve will then be detailed that, in view of the Christensen situation, Barcelona will now listen to offers for Ronald Arajo again, trying to balance the books. Their sources in the club say that if Araujo believes that he has no chance to get a starting point back, he could ask for an exit.
Araujo has also made it clear, and very publicly that he does not intend to leave Barcelona, and it seems that his sale is a pain with which they can enter instead of the ideal in terms. Likewise, Barcelona is said to be looking for a sale for Hector Fort, even if it were logical for the Blaugrana to continue to develop the 19-year-old behind Kounde and perhaps Garcia, perhaps pushed by the club's salary limit.
