Barcelona looks ahead to the summer transfer window, in which they are expected to be busy now that they are back in the 1: 1 rule of La Liga. Sports director Deco is the man who is responsible for leading the search for new signing sessions, and although he has expressed his opinion that an abundance of arrivals is not necessary, there should still be an important movement.
One of the requests that Deco handles with Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick is the signing of a new right back. Jules Kounde has been undisputed in the position for the past 2-3 years, but the German coach is worried about the lack of depth and makes it clear to himself that Hector Fort is not yet on the standard.
Deco is drawing up a shortlist of possible goals for which Barcelona could go, and one is supposed to be Andrei Ratiu. The Romanian international has impressed Rayo Vallecano in the last 12 months, and could now be time for him to take a step.
Ratiu will enter the last 12 months of his Rayo contract when the summer is rolling around, so his asking price will be lowered. According to Sport, Los Franjirrojos accepts no less than € 10 million, with the maximum sum set as the release clause of the 26-year-old € 25 million.
The price for Ratiu is expected to be higher than in normal circumstances, since Villarreal would be entitled to 50% of the reimbursement received, because they have half of the player's rights. In this respect it becomes more difficult for Barcelona, because they don't want to pay too much for a kounde -backup.
It is still to be seen whether Ratiu is the player looking for Barcelona in the summer. He would be a good team option, but his prize can be out of reach.
