Chelsea -attacker Nicolas Jackson has had ups and downs at Chelsea for two years since he moved from Villarreal. After bringing in Joao Pedro and Liam Delap, the Senegalese international is now looking for an exit, with a return to La Liga a possibility.
After signing € 37 million in 2023, Jackson made 81 performances for Chelsea, scored 30 goals and gave 12 assists. Nevertheless, his inconsistency for the aim has led to Chelsea looking for alternative options and offside, say that they have set the asking price at € 50 million.
The same exhaust valve further explains that Barcelona is interested in a potential loan agreement for Jackson, and director of Football Deco is expected to discuss the issue in the coming days. The Catalan giants would be one of the leading contenders for a loan with an option to buy Deal, where he would be an alternative to Robert Lewandowski.
Jackson, for his part, would rather stay in the Premier League. Newcastle United could look at him if Alexander Isak continues, while Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has worked with him in the past. Manchester United is also credited with an interest, although Chelsea is wary to sell to rival teams.
A more attractive option for Chelsea can be a switch to Serie A, but Jackson has rejected a move to AC Milan. Napoli has moved their attention elsewhere and Juventus has asked him.
Although Jackson was perhaps a logical alternative before the arrival of Marcus Rashford last week, a movement for the 24-year-old seems very unlikely. Rashford is planned to play from the left, but it strengthens the role of Ferran Torres through the middle, and unless Barcelona is planning to cash in Torres – and to convince him of a movement – a movement for Jackson would be a strange use of resources.
