Barcelona is often criticized for their failure to find more financing for their transfer movements through the sale, but one of their previous deals has proven a good company. Former defender Jean-Clair Todibo has completed a move to West Ham United from Nice, and Barcelona has benefited from it.
TODIBO, now 25, arrived in Barcelona as an 18-year prospect of Toulouse in exchange for € 1 million after breaking into the first team. Despite his obvious talents, a lack of opportunities forced him to find other ways of progress in his career, and after loan spells at Benfica and Schalke, permanently to Nice in exchange for € 8.5 million. The Catalan giants also retained a clause of 20% sale.
Last summer, despite earlier activities of Manchester United and Juventus, West Ham concluded a loan agreement with an obligation to buy from Nice. This season he made 29 performances for the Hammers, and the athletic report that West Ham has already followed with their obligation, which completed the purchase for a fee of € 39 million. It means that Barcelona will receive € 7.8 million from the deal and have made a total profit of € 15.3 million on Todibo on sales and the sale reimbursed.
The Blaugrana will have a number of deals such as these that can benefit them this summer and finance further things. The most striking perhaps is that Francisco Trincao, who is linked to various Premier League parties, and Barcelona retains 50% of his future reimbursement. Spain and Celta Vigo-star Oscar Mingueza also has a 50% Sell-On clause, just like Real Betis' EZ Abde, Riqui Puig from La Galaxy, Mika Marmol in Las Palmas and Carles Alena at Getafe. Mikayil Faye (30%), Alex Collado (30%), Ilaix Moriba (10%) and Ferran Jutgla (10%) are also potential income roads this summer.
