Barcelona could receive more delayed money after winter transfer movements.
Despite playing a limited active role in the transfer window, Barcelona is in line to secure cash payouts through previous agreements.
Barcelona has made it a habit to negotiate the sale of players with substantial sale in the past seasons and 2025 could result in a payout in multiple options.
As part of a Deadline Day Movement, Manchester City fights to sign Porto -Midfender Nico Gonzalez to cover for the constant absence of 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner Rodri Hernandez.
The 23-year-old Spanish midfielder expressed the wish on the Portuguese side to have the movement take place before the end of the transfer window through Europe.
The ex-La Masia product will fly to England after an agreement has been reached between the two clubs at the last minute. City pays the full value of its release clause of € 60 million in Portugal, say relevant, but they have negotiated a more flexible payment schedule, instead of paying the full fee in advance, as is often the case with a release clause.
The deal was celebrated in Barcelona, because La Blaugrana maintained 40% sold -out fee when they sold Gonzalez to Porto for € 8.44 million in the summer of 2023.
That should yield a total of € 24 million for Barcelona, further than what they have received. Including what Porto has paid, Gonzalez would make their largest general sale over the past 4.5 years, only surpassed by the € 50 million that was brought in from Paris Saint-Germain for Ousmane Dembele.
In addition, as reported by Diario as, Sampdoria's decision to borrow Estanis Pedrola to Bologna could yield more money, with a purchase option for June.
Pedrola has struggled for playing time in Sampdoria, and if Bologna exercises their option to buy the 21-year-old, Barcelona has 50% share in a future sale that could yield around € 2 million for the 2025/26 campaign.
