Barcelona eye Son-Heung Min transfer & chase 4 other stars amid financial crisis

Barcelona are reportedly planning a money-saving move for Tottenham star Son-Heung Min amid their ongoing financial crisis.

The Catalan giants are embroiled in huge financial problems after failing to secure a £60million registration to sign Dani Olmo. And in an attempt to avoid similar problems, Barcelona is turning to a series of free transfers.

Spurs forward and captain Son is one of them, with just six months left on his contract. He could open talks with foreign clubs in January, while he could leave for free in the summer if Spurs fail to agree a new contract.

It was reported in November that Spurs would activate an option to extend his contract for another season, but that has not yet materialized. 32-year-old Son scored seven goals in 23 games for Spurs this season.

According to Spanish outlet El Nacional, Barcelona have already added Son to their shortlist. Speaking in September, Son revealed that no talks had taken place over a new deal. He said: 'We haven't talked about anything yet.

“It's very clear to me. I'm very focused on this season. At this age, every second is like a goal, especially this season we do a lot of competitions, I feel like I'm paying even more attention to this.” .

“Like I said, I'm completely focused on this year and just want to win something that everyone at the club – the players all around – deserves. That's what I work for. In the future you never know what will happen.” but I will give everything for this club, because it has been almost ten years and I give everything.

“I still have a contract with the club, that's the most important thing and I just want to give everything until my contract [expires].”

Meanwhile, boss Ange Postecoglou refused to comment on Son's contractual situation ahead of a clash with Chelsea last month. He said: “Right now all I care about is Sunday.

“I didn't care about people's contracts. I didn't care about their situation. What matters to me is Sunday and I want to make sure we have a group of players on Sunday who are ready to go out and fight.”

He isn't the only free agent they want to sign. They are also reportedly interested in a move for Bayern Munich duo Joshua Kimmich and Leroy Sane. Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah is also a long-term target.
