Barcelona are currently in the middle of a difficult form phase. Saturday's 2-2 draw against Real Betis marks the fourth time in five La Liga games that they have dropped points, and with Real Madrid beating Girona later in the day, their lead at the top of the table has now been reduced to two points ( and they played one more game).
It was a disappointing performance from Barcelona at the Benito Villamarin, and curiously one area they have not exploited is their ability to catch opponents offside. Thanks to Hansi Flick's high-line tactics, the Catalans were able to defend extremely tightly, although that did not work in Seville.
According to Marca, Barcelona failed to sideline Betis once during Saturday's match. It is the first time this has happened in a match since Flick's arrival during the summer.
There is clearly work to be done for Flick on the training pitch, although he is unlikely to see much of a turnaround as Barcelona return to action on Wednesday when they take on Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
