Barcelona fans hopeful over Marc-Andre ter Stegen return after training comeback

Fans of Barcelona were delighted to see Marc-Andre ter Stegen in training for the first time in 2025.

The Germany International has been sidelined since undergoing surgery on a serious knee injury at the end of September.

Barcelona responded quickly to the setback of his injury, with deputy Stop Inaki Pena that acted as a cover option, and veteran star Wojciech Szczesny who participated in an emergency transfer.

Szczesny is now expected to be offered a new deal to keep it in the club for the 2025/26 campaign after he is surprisingly closed to Pena in the plans of Hansi Flick.

However, there is no doubt that Ter Stegen is the first choice between the posts when fit, and the signs look positive about his return.

The expectation is that Ter Stegen will be relaxed in full training sessions with contact in the coming weeks after club images on social media have shown him in action again with his teammates.

The most important question is aimed at whether he will be able to play again this season with early updates after the injury that may bring him back into the fight to play a game at the end of May or early June.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano sent Barcelona supporters to overdrive by claiming that Ter Stegen 'hard works for his comeback before the end of the season' prior to the Run-in campaigns.

The last match of the LA Liga campaign is planned for 25 May and that can be a possible target for the 32-year-old.

However, a potential UEFA Champions League final on 31 May, in the Allianz Arena of Bayern Munich, was also reached on the Horizon as Barcelona.

Germany could also call him for the Nations League Finals series in June, if they reach that phase after the quarterfinals of March.
