The 2025 winter transfer window opens in three days, and while there should be a flurry of activity, Barcelona are one team that will be quiet. Due to their well-documented financial problems, it was expected that no one would arrive at the Estadi Olimpic, although that may not ultimately be the case.
Sport has reported that there is little chance that Barcelona will be able to sign a contract in January. This would be the case because of the leverage the club will use to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Victor before the end of the month.
Depending on the revenue Barcelona brings in through this method, there could be enough financial Fair Play leeway to make the signing. If so, head coach Hansi Flick would like to add a midfielder to his squad as he believes it is the most pressing need.
