Barcelona is preparing for a very busy window in the summer transfer, their first since making their long-awaited return to the 1: 1-rule of La Liga. A number of positions will probably be tackled at the end of the season, and one of them is striker.
It is no secret that Barcelona wants to sign a Robert Lewandowski successor, although the question is when they will do it. The idea is to consider the market this summer, but given that the Polish veteran will remain at the earliest until the end of the 2025-26 season, there are doubts about whether the Catalan giants will have the operation for 12 months delay.
Alexander Isak is considered a leading target, although the money requested by Newcastle United would make a deal almost impossible for the time being. A more financially viable option for Barcelona is his Swedish teammate Viktor Gyokeres, who is reportedly available for € 65 million, according to Sport.
The report of the Catalan Daily also states that Barcelona “has everything in their hands” to sign Gyokeres this summer. Although € 65 million would be a relatively feasible price, they can lower it with two players: Francisco Trincao and Vitor Roque.
Barcelona sold Trincao to Sporting CP 18 months ago and as part of that agreement they retained 50% of his rights. The Portuguese giants want to buy this and a solution can be achieved during negotiations for Gyokees.
Continue. Sporting has previously shown interest in Roque, who returns to Barcelona in the summer after his real Betis Loan spell. A player-plus-cash deal can be sought in a different way to bring the price to a more affordable figure.
It will be interesting to see if Barcelona is going for Gyokees in the summer. He would be a very good signature, and if a Lewandowski successor there may not be too much considering the price and circumstances.
