Barcelona have halt 2025-26 plans due to concerns over budget

Barcelona's endless battle with the balance will again play a leading role in the summer of 2025. The Blaugrana continued to sell assets in December to give them more room for maneuvers in terms of their salary limit, but it is not clear whether they can include that sale in their budget.

De Blaugrana announced an agreement for the sale of 475 VIP seats in the renovated Camp Nou to be rented to Forta Advisors and New Era Visionary Group in January up to the amount of € 100 million. That was a movement that was aimed at facilitating the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, although both La Liga and the RFEF have disputed his validity because of the deadlines, and even suspect the integrity of the buyers.

Now the VIP chairs Deal plays with their planning for the future. According to Ser Catalunya, as worn by Diario ALS, Barcelona has stopped their planning for the 2025-26 season. Barcelona would present their accounts to La Liga until 31 December before the end of March, but has come across a problem with the sale of their VIP chairs. As reported last week, Auditors Crowe refuse to include the sale of € 100 million in their bills, because it does not yet exist.

It was originally planned that Barcelona would return to Camp Nou in November, but after several delays the Blaugrana will only be there next season. As such, Crowe refuses to take up sales in their 2024-25 accounts. This would cause major damage with their salary limit and at least the € 57 million struggles they have received, and as such, Barcelona has stopped their plans for next season.

This is clearly a far from ideal situation for director of Voetbaldeco and manager Hansi Flick, who may have to change their plans. The Blaugrana are strongly connected to Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah on a free transfer this summer, but what had also been viewed to Barcelona can now draw up backup plans.
