Barcelona will have Robert Lewandowski as part of their attempt to reach the Champions League final against Inter in the semi-final second stage. The score was locked on 3-3 of the first stage in Montjuic, but the Blaugrana remained disappointed that they could not take advantage of Milan.
Polish attacker Robert Lewandowski has received everything clearly to play against Inter and is part of their team, both announced on Monday morning by Barcelona (via Semper Barca). The 36-year-old is their top scorer and has 40 goals and three assists in his 48 performances this season, but missed their last four games against Inter, Real Valladolid, Real Madrid and RCD Mallorca with a problem with knee tendon.
Young right back Landry Farre and Barca Atletic midfielder Noah Darvich are also included in the team and will travel to Italy with the team.
The bitter pill to swallow is that starting left back Alejandro Bald has not recovered on time and has been omitted from the team. The 21-year-old was tipped to return this week, but has made insufficient progress with a hamstring injury that has kept him outside for the past 3.5 weeks. His focus is now on El Clasico this weekend and he will try to return against Real Madrid on time.
Manager Hansi Flick seems to have made most of his decisions for the line-up against Inter, with the exception of how to cover the absence of Bald. Gerard Martin and Inigo Martinez seem to be the most likely of four options that arrive on the left. Despite the fact that Lewandowski is again injury, the word of Catalonia that Ferran Torres will continue in the starting XI, whereby Lewandowski offers an option from the bank.
