Barcelona continues to sweep the transfer market for opportunities, despite little certainty about their ability to sign players and then register players. One of the most important areas they want to strengthen this summer is the left side of their attack, as confirmed by manager Hansi Flick.
The Blaugrana missed Nico Williams after he decided to sign a new deal in the midst of concern about his registration, while a movement for Luis Diaz looks increasingly difficult for the same reasons. Marcus Rashford has been cited as the most likely alternative, but director of Football Deco is said to have doubts about the Manchester United man, and the Blaugrana investigates alternatives in advance for the following season.
As reported by Sport, Deco has met the agents of RB Leipzig and former La Masia game maker Xavi Simons. The meeting lasted about 45 minutes and was a first application about the Dutch international, to find out more about his situation, although a deal looks very difficult. Fausto Simons, his brother and representative, as well as super-agent Ali Barat were present simons plans to leave Leipzig this summer, but has no clear destination.
Barat also represents Chelsea Vooruit Nico Jackson and Ecuador Talent Kendry Paez.
Deco was also present in a meal with agent Jorge Mendes on Wednesday evening after Lamine Yamal had renewed his deal, where Joan Laporta, President Joan Laporta, also yielded. Mendes represents Denzel Dumfries and also has connections with Rafael Leao, both connected to Barcelona. Sport says that the subject of Dumfries has been discussed, but MD claims that it was just a festive meal between Mendes, Laporta, Deco, Bojan Krkic and Alejandro Echevarria after the Lamine Yamal signing event, instead of a meeting to talk about things.
