Barcelona has identified the right back place as one of the areas they would like to add to the summer transfer window, as was the case last year. After the departure of Leenlee Joao Cancelo, only Jules Kounde and younger Hector Fort Natural Options for Hansi Flick are in the position this season.
According to Sport, Flick asked for more reinforcements as a priority for the summer. Kounde has generally performed well in that place, but is currently the most used outfield player in football, which suggests that he might be able to do with more rotation. Fort has seen small playing time under Flick after earning a few early minutes under Xavi Hernandez.
It was recently reported that Barcelona was still interested in Vanderon van AS Monaco as one of their preferred options. Another alternative remains Marc Pubill from Almeria. The 21-year-old gave the green light to a move to Barcelona last summer, when a movement that collapsed atalanta. However, the Catalan giants did not have the space in their salary limit to do the deal.
Barcelona, however, continued to follow Pubill in Segunda with Almeria and he remains one of their primary options. They also spoke with the player's camp to ensure that he does not connect to another club before they get the chance to move for him in the summer.
Pubill has previously confirmed that a move to Barcelona was close by last summer, and the Olympic gold medal winner has been tipped for big things since he came to Levante as a teenager. He then moved 18 months ago for € 5 million and the Valencian side retained a sale compensation. It is believed that Almeria will demand at least € 20 million for his signature next summer, if not anymore.
