Barcelona is convinced that they will have a new signature Joan Garcia available for their first game of the season against RCD Mallorca on Saturday evening (19:30 CEST). However, they now work hard to also have Manchester United loaner Marcus Rashford available.
La Liga has approved the injury report of Marc-Andre Ter Stegen as an absence in the long term, allowing Barcelona to activate the injury rule and register Garcia using a part of its salary limit room. With Robert Lewandowski with injury for their first game, the presence of Rashford is the next most important for the Blaugrana and they will then try to register him.
According to MD, Barcelona could use the € 7 million guarantee that their board approved on Wednesday to register Rashford. Initially it was reported that they would only turn it on if they were to arrive at the end of the transfer window and still had not yet solved registration problems. However, it now seems that the confirmed absence of Lewandowski has made the problem more urgently.
In the meantime, Barcelona continues to wait for the green light of Auditors Crowe with their VIP rental agreement of € 100 million. That would enable them to register Rashford, and probably the rest of their players awaiting registration. Roony Bardghji, Gerard Martin, Wojciech Szczesny and Marc Bernal also wait for registration.
Van Hector Fort is expected to leave, and therefore his place in the team at the bottom of the priority list, and Bernal is not expected to return for a few weeks, hence Martin, Szczesny and Bardghji will probably follow. It is added that the absence of Ter Stegen, if it is considered more than five months, Garcia could register for the rest of the seasons, while an absence of four months would only include him in the Barcelona team until January. There are conflicting reports on how long the recovery period of Ter Stegen has been determined.
