Barcelona will hope to be able to operate under La Liga's 1:1 rule again in next summer's transfer window, but even if they do, their financial problems will not be resolved. As such, the free agent market is one they will want to exploit, as they have done in recent years.
There are several big names out of contract next summer, and Barcelona are monitoring their situation. According to Sport, this is particularly the case for three players: Bayern Munich pair Alphonso Davies and Joshua Kimmich, as well as Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah.
Barcelona are expected to complete the signing of Tah, who would strengthen their options in central defense. It would be considerably more difficult to get deals for Davies and Kimmich done – not only because of the club's financial problems, but also because there are undoubtedly plenty of other clubs trying to sign the duo.
