Barcelona ‘know’ they won’t return to 1:1 salary limit spending rule this summer

Barcelona has had trouble finding space in their salary limit for new signing sessions for some time, and despite countless relaxation of the spending rules, the Blaugrana has been set for another summer. That is despite the fact that 475 VIP seats in December are taught for 30 years for an amount of € 100 million.

Since the infamous summer 'economic levers', now four years ago, Barcelona has not been in black when it comes to their salary limit. In January, Barcelona was briefly in that position, which they used to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, although that was only accepted after a legal challenge.

For a fourth summer in a row, RAC1 reports that Barcelona will not be within their salary limit and can therefore only invest 50% of what they sell and save again in new players this summer. It was thought that the decisive factor was whether Barcelona could include the income from their VIP seats, after Auditors Crowe had omitted it from their April accounts.

The Blaugrana work to ensure that the VIP chairs are delivered in June before the end of their fiscal year and that Crowe has to read the sale again in their balance sheet. But even if that is approved, it is not enough to return within their salary limit.

On a number of occasions, President Joan Laporta stated that they would return to the so-called 1: 1-rule, later claim that La Liga has changed the rules or changed his mind about which income can be included in the calculations. In the end, however, Barcelona had difficulty breaking even in recent years.

The board pointed out that without the devaluation of Barca Vision they would have done as a product, but the Catalan giants ended the year with just over € 90 million.
