Barcelona, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur transfer target confirms summer exit

Bayer Leverkusen -defender Jonathan Tah has confirmed what used to be an open secret: he will leave this summer. Tah is expected to have a large number of offers from the European top clubs, Tah is available for free at the end of his contract, which will expire this summer.

Originally chased by Bayern Munich and Barcelona last summer, the Bavarian giants publicly confirmed that they are no longer trying to sign Tah, while for Barcelona it has been reported that they have an agreement on personal conditions with the German international.

Speaking with the German magazine kicker, as quoted by Sport, Tah has confirmed that he will leave Leverkusen in the summer.

“I decided not to stay here some time ago, and the club knows now. As always, I have communicated it openly, and everything is clear now,” he explained, although it is not a big surprise after he has been linked to an exit since last summer.

However, there are conflicting reports about whether Barcelona will finally move for him. Although there seems to be a consensus that Tah and Barcelona have an agreement on conditions, and that the 29-year-old priority gives a move to the La Liga Behemoth, there is no clear way of acting from the Catalan side. Some say they have reassured Tah, they will sign him, while others say that conversations have become cold, giving Tah the Blaugrana until May to give him guarantees.

On the other hand, there are of course other clubs that are interested in bringing in such a controversial central defender. Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are closest to Tah in the Premier League, while Inter and AC Milan are cited as interested parties in Italy. Real Madrid will probably also assess their defensive options, and Tah also fits their transfer policy – he was also offered earlier in the season.
