Barcelona looking to close €25m sale today

After a month of speculation around a move to Palmeiras for Vitor Roque, today was labeled as 'D-Day' for the deal. The 19-year-old has fallen from the starting XI in recent weeks and it seems that he will be on his way from the Benito Villamarin.

Barcelona and Palmeiras have more or less agreed with a deal for Roque to move € 25 million with the Catalan giants who retain 20% of his rights, according to Sport. There are still a few details to settle, but these are expected to be ironed in an operation in the course of Monday with which Barcelona can escape from a failed transfer without accounting losses.

In the meantime, real betis have been false for several weeks that Roque would stay in the club, but Los Verdiblancos are now aware of the fact that he is a lost cause. They do not intend to collapse the deal, because they have a 'beautiful' relationship with Barcelona and now operate Cucho Hernandez in the front after he signed him for € 13 million in January.

Betis has an option to buy Roque under the same conditions, and also an option to extend his loan until next season if they wish, and they can still receive a small fee to make Roque leave instead of the summer. The Brazilian transfer window ends on 28 February, but there is optimism in Sao Paulo that the deal will be closed for their new selection framework.

Moreover, it has been reported that Betis pays Roque's salary and has to pay a fine of € 1.5 million if Roque does not reach a threshold of appearances, something where he has chosen the danger of Manuel Pellegrini for alternatives in recent weeks. Pellegrini has been reluctant to let him go, because Hernandez is not registered for the Conference League, so that only Cedric Bakambu remains as a natural option for that competition, but it seems that the Chileen will lose this battle.
