Barcelona is in conversation with defender Jules Kounde about a new contract for the French defender, in the midst of interest from the Premier League. The Catalan side is confident to hold the 26-year-old.
In the past few months after the news was broken that Barcelona wanted to bind him to a new deal, it followed about the importance of the Premier League. Chelsea, who chased Kounde while he was in Seville, and Arsenal were both interested in the French International, but more recently it happened that Manchester City asked him for him.
Where all sources come together is that Barcelona was in conversation with Kounde in July, while trying to work on a new deal. In a report emphasized by Semper Barca, Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also talked about a possible move to England. The Italian explains that Barcelona and Kounde both want to expand his stay in Camp Nou, and neither of them are considering a scenario in which Kounde leaves the club this summer.
It seems like an opportunity to sign Kounde, is the next summer when Barcelona cannot agree on a deal about a new deal. Nevertheless, the recent history suggests that Barcelona will be able to close a deal to keep Kounde in the club.
