While the football world is focused on the January transfer window, most clubs have already initiated their planning process for the coming summer. That is also the case in Barcelona, who with little space in their salary limit to bring someone in this winter started thinking about the summer.
Sports director Deco and manager Hansi Flick have already started discussing their next movements, while working on the assumption of using La Masia players where possible and add the star quality on top. The top two priorities are currently a left wing player and a central defender, while the full-back positions have been cited as their other two positions that Flick and Deco can feel reinforced.
Sport reports that their discussions have brought them to the conclusion in the past week that their next priority should be the right back position. Left-back was also considered a point of potential improvement, but that idea has recently withdrawn. If they bring in a right back, it will be someone of starting quality, but it will probably depend on how many players leave and for what money.
It will not be a completely surprising reading for Barcelona fans, since it comes from Alejandro Bald after the back of a revival. The 21-year-old has recently looked much closer to his best, after a difficult 18 months, a third of which were injured. It also takes into account the transmission of Jules Kounde. Flick seems to be convinced that Youngster Hector Fort can adequately cover him, and the Frenchman is the most used player in world football at the moment at the moment. If Barcelona were to be large next summer, this probably means the departure of one or both of Ronald Arajo and Frenkie de Jong.
