Barcelona could hardly have imagined where they would be in this phase of the season by the time the latter ended, with the Blaugrana Girona fighting for second place. Although there are clearly a number of artificialities of their success, one name is the sounding architect of their progress: Hansi Flick.
The German manager arrived with low expectations, but has scored his Barcelona side at a record pace, in all three major competitions and with two wins over Real Madrid in their pocket. That is despite the fact that only Pau Victor and Dani Olmo arrived last summer, to a team that apparently needed large operation.
It is therefore no surprise that Barcelona Hansi likes to bind for the future. The German signed a two -year -old deal on his arrival in the Catalan capital, and Sport says that Barcelona wants to extend his contract until 2027, possibly with an option for another year, although they will include a mutual termination clause for both parties.
It is explained daily by the Catalan that various directors, President Joan Laporta and director of Voetbaldeco, all met with Flick's agent Pini Zahavi to discuss so much with him. Although it was more a communication of their intentions than negotiating figures, they have expressed their intention to close a new deal before the end of the season, and before the titles are decided, given him the perfect man to lead them ahead.
Flick has certainly exceeded expectations, and apart from some of their star players such as Lamine Yamal or Pedri, he is perhaps their most valuable possession at the moment. Of course managers can be replaced, but the level of football that is being played, with a non -uniform team until the past few years, is well above everything that can be seen in Barcelona for at least six years.
