Barcelona looks like this summer in this summer and Attack is one of the areas that is planning to be tackled by Sporting Director Deco. The idea is that a large name left wing is brought in, but there is also a chance that coverage has been added for Lamine Yamal on the right.
And if that happened, one of the best bets for Barcelona could be a familiar face: Francisco Trincao. The 25-year-old signed for the Catalan side in 2020, but after a season in the first team, and back-to-back loan spells at Wolves and Sporting CP, he was sold to the last three years later.
And it is on Sport that Trincao started to deliver the potential that Barcelona had him signed from Braga. This season he scored 11 times and registered 15 assists, with two of those goals in Sunday's 5-2 victory over Denmark in the UEFA Nations League.
According to Marca, Barcelona has the option to sign Trincao again for a fee between € 20-25 million. Although this is considered a bargain for one of the sober rising wing players in Europe, the Catalans are not yet thinking about activating the buy-back clause in their agreement with Sporting.
It is expected that a number of top European clubs will take a step for Trincao in the summer, and if they do that, Barcelona would be in the money. They have 50% of the player's rights on top of the buy-back clause, so they would be entitled to half of all transfer costs that the Portuguese side receives.
In terms of a back -up right wing player, there would not be too much close that would be as good as Trincao, especially if you are considering the costs. However, it would be a surprise if Barcelona would move to sign him, given that their funds are limited for the summer because of their financial problems.
