Barcelona offer Liverpool ‘Van Dijk replacement’ swap in Luis Diaz talks

Barcelona is expected to make at least one big summer transfer sale to balance the books in Catalonia prior to the following season.

The club suffered a financial blow earlier this month when La Liga chose to lower their salary limit before 2025/26 after their VIP chairs of € 100 million were excluded from consideration.

Because Barcelona hopes for increasing their wage bar, the club is confident that they will adhere to work within their 1: 1 transfer policy, only spending money that is generated via measurable income.

Contract extensions with Wojciech Szczesny and Lamine Yamal are now expected to be paused until a large sale takes place, as reported by relevant.

That means that Hansi Flick may have to discharge a key name to guarantee financial stability and to stimulate his own transfer funds for the coming months.

A new update indicates that the main name in the frame to continue, the most important defender Ronald Arajo is due to his high transfer value.

In January, Aaraujo seemed destined to leave Barcelona before a dramatic U-turn saw him sign a new contract.

The small print of the agreement, however, includes a significant reduction in its release clause, which is now reportedly worth € 65 million and the Catalans hope that this will be activated in the summer, but it is time -sensitive.

According to Relo reports, ARAUJO is available for that reimbursement until July 16, after which the clause goes back to more than € 1 billion.

As part of a movement to sign an important target and remove Araujo, Barcelona Liverpool could offer a Swap deal with Luis Diaz.

Barcelona openly investigates a deal for the Colombian international, but they cannot currently afford an outright transfer offer.

It remains unclear whether Araujo would be a straight exchange for Diaz, without compensation, but the constant uncertainty about the continuation of Virgil van Dijk in Anfield means that Arne Slot could be on the market for a new defensive leader on Merseyside.
