Barcelona is expected to be relatively busy during this summer's transfer window, and an area that will be tackled is Hansi Flick's defensive options. Since Andreas Christensen is likely to be sold at the end of the season because of his prominence fall in recent months, a replacement will be needed – and the chance of the market for free agent will look at the market.
Jonathan Tah is the big favorite to be signed by Barcelona, with the Bayer Leverkusen star in motion. However, there are other options that will be evaluated by Sporting Director Deco, and one of them is Virgil van Dijk. According to sport, the Liverpool defender, who, according to many, are the best center-back in world football, is offered to the Catalan giants.
It is not only Van Dijk that also has the chance to become a member of Barcelona, as Joshua Kimmich has also been offered. The midfielder of Bayern Munich has long been associated with a move to Catalonia, and with his contract also expires at the end of the season, he can be taken over without a transfer costs.
Van Dijk Dijk nor Kimmich, however, will join Barcelona, whereby Deco has excluded both players as possible signing sessions. In the case of the first, the Portuguese believe that his profile is not necessary in the team of Hansi Flick, especially in view of the fact that he is already 33 years old and his wages would be high.
With Kimmich, Barcelona does not consider him a necessary player because they prefer to count on the players on the club. In the defensive midfield, Flick Al Frenkie de Jong, Marc Casado, Pedri, Gavi, Eric Garcia and Marc Bernal has the options, so it makes sense that the German is not a necessary addition.
