Former Barcelona defender Oscar Mingueza has been regularly linked with a move away from Celta Vigo, and that could happen as soon as this month.
According to Relevo, there are several teams in the Premier League that are willing to pay Mingueza's release clause, which is valued at €20 million. As a result, Celta have started making preparations for life after the 25-year-old defender, and are reported to be eyeing Alaves winger Carlos Vicente as his replacement.
Celta are willing to offer five million euros for Vicente, who they believe fits perfectly with the right-back role that Mingueza will play this season. At this stage it is unclear whether that comes close to the asking price that Alaves would set.
This amount would be exactly half of what Celta would receive for Mingueza, as Barcelona are entitled to the remaining ten million euros as they have retained 50% of his rights.
