Last season, Mika Marmol made a big impression under Francisco Javier Garcia Pimienta in Las Palmas. The latter eventually became head coach at Sevilla in the summer and wanted to take the 23-year-old defender to Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Las Palmas did not allow a sale to take place in the summer as they considered Marmol an indispensable player at the time. However, things have changed since then as he lost his place before earning it back in recent weeks. During this period, Sevilla have maintained their interest, according to MD.
It doesn't look like Las Palmas will let Marmol go for the time being, and it's also likely that Sevilla wouldn't be able to afford him. Barcelona will be monitoring the situation in the coming months as they have retained 50% of his rights as part of the 2023 deal between the two clubs.
