It is no secret that Barcelona wants to sign a new striker in the next 1-2 years, and a move has been advertised for this summer. They have drawn up a shortlist with people like Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres, but the primary goal of the club is the former real Sociedad striker and current Newcastle United star, Alexander Isak.
This season, Isak is in sensational form in the Premier League, where only Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland have scored more than the 17 he gathered in the top flight of English football. His versions have attracted interest from Arsenal and Liverpool, while Barcelona also regards itself in the race.
Barcelona has a long -term interest in Isak. He first appeared on their radar when he was in La Real, according to Diario ALS. His asking price of € 70 million was affordable at that time, but no move was made before Newcastle dived in the summer of 2022.
The fact that Barcelona is finally back in the 1: 1 rule of La Liga gives Barcelona a better chance to be big in someone like Isak in the summer. However, the report states that a movement would only be considered a real possibility if Lewandowski would leave the club at the end of the season.
Currently it seems that Lewandowski will stay in Barcelona for at least one year, with the Polish veteran reaching an agreement to stay on until the end of the 2025-26 season. In principle, this makes it impossible for Isak to make the switch to Catalonia, although it cannot be completely excluded.
Barcelona is happy with Lewandowski and Ferran Torres as their striker options, while they can welcome Vitor Roque in the team in the summer – although it is more likely that he will be sold.
