Barcelona pass on chance to seek suspension of La Liga President Javier Tebas

Barcelona did not act on the chance to possibly find a suspension for La Liga President Javier Tebas. Despite public disagreements between the two institutions about a number of issues, in particular about the registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor of recent times, the Blaugrana seem to have made the chance to become nuclear in their struggle.

Tebas has already received a fine and warning for his behavior in an earlier case with Real Madrid, and last week head of Cenafe and former president of the High Sports Committee (CSD) Miguel Angel Galan assured that a second infringement could lead to his suspension. He noted that if Barcelona would bring their infringement of the confidentiality case to the CSD, there was a 90-95% chance that he would be suspended.

Barcelona requested La Liga to remove a press release in which details about their salary limit situation were revealed, which they say that it broke the confidentiality of the club. La Liga did this and noted that although the information was true, they wanted to avoid 'formal processes'. According to MD, Barcelona did not get the chance to file a complaint with the CSD on Tebas.

This would perhaps provide some credibility to the idea that, although they are regularly confronted with problems, President Joan Laporta of Barcelona maintains cordial relations with Tebas. Likewise, Barcelona wants to use it as a negotiating ship with Tebas in future transactions.

The same cannot be said of Real Madrid, with Tebas and Los Blancos in a frequent back and forth. Real Madrid has tried to submit further procedures against Tebas, presumably with the intention of suspending the president, and claimed that Tebas broke confidentiality about their actions in a league meeting that goes back to 2023. This is only the last in a long-running quarrel between Tebas and Oddrid's against the past.
