Barcelona resolved their registration devices somewhat at the weekend after they succeeded in registering Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford on time to be confronted with Mallorca on Saturday evening. However, more is needed to ensure that other players can be registered with La Liga, and this can be done by further departure.
It is almost certain that Inaki Pena will be one of the players who leaves Barcelona before the summer transfer window is closed. The 26-year-old keeper is a fourth choice for the 2025-26 season, behind Garcia, Wojciech Szczesny and Marc-Andre ter Stegen, but he has not yet been able to leave due to the registration covers of the club priorities to the Mallorca competition, he was the only senior goalkeeper who was registered with La League.
With the registration of Garcia, however, as well as the expectation that Szczesny will take place soon, Barcelona is willing to renounce Pena – although it will not happen as most expect.
According to Sport, Pena Barcelona leaves loan, instead of permanent. He is expected to sign a one-year contract extension in the coming days, before his next club has been declared the report that this should happen on Wednesday.
It was obvious that Pena Barcelona would leave through transfer, given that his current deal has risen in June. However, it makes sense to keep it in the area from the following summer, since Szczesny and Ter Stegen could both leave in 2026.
With regard to his next club, the Joan Gamper -Trophy opponents Como of Barcelona would be very interested in securing his services, while interested by Celta Vigo.
