Barcelona possible starting line-up against Real Madrid in Super Cup final

Everything indicates that Flick will field the same eleven that defeated Athletic in the semi-finals.

Hansi Flick remains very pleased with the team's performance in their 2-0 win over Athletic in the semi-final of the Spanish Super Cup.

As a result, all signs point to him – in the same way Ancelotti is expected to do – sticking with the same starting XI for the final against Real Madrid (Sunday, January 12, 2:00 PM ET / 11:00 AM PT. ).

The only potential change revolves around Dani Olmo. The midfielder, who missed the semi-finals because he was not registered, has now received the green light from the federation following a precautionary order from the CSD. With this new option at his disposal, Flick faces a crucial decision: Olmo's inclusion in the lineup would mean that Gavi, who played a key role in the semi-final victory, would drop with a goal and an assist.

Who plays for Barcelona against Real Madrid?

Furthermore, Gavi's energy and determination – qualities that shine in high-intensity matches such as El Clásico – make him a strong candidate to retain his place in the starting XI. At the moment it looks like the Spaniard will keep his place.

In goal, Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny is expected to keep his position after an excellent performance in the semi-final. If confirmed, this would be Iñaki Peña's third consecutive game on the bench, possibly followed by a fourth, as Marc-André ter Stegen is likely to return for next Wednesday's Copa del Rey match against Betis.

The rest of the starting XI seems ready, barring injuries, suspensions or unexpected rotations. Pau Cubarsí and Íñigo Martínez are likely to form the central defensive duo, while Jules Koundé and Alejandro Balde operate on the wings.

In midfield, the indefatigable Marc Casadó and Pedri are almost certainly starters, probably joined by Gavi. Up front, the dynamic attacking trio of Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha is expected to remain unchanged.
