Barcelona again avoided a registration lamp in January, which held a command to ensure that Dani Olmo and Pau Victor remained registered and available to play. This was made possible by the sale of 475 VIP seats in the renovated Camp Nou on a lease agreement of 30 years in exchange for € 100 million in immediate income. As the suspicion grows over the origin of the money that came in and the background of the invested companies, President Joan Laporta would like to further forge further matters in the middle.
The first company that was involved was from Qatari -Opsprong, with registered headquarters in London, but a company that consists of only two people and exists only since the summer of 2024. In the meantime, the second investor has been named a new ERA Visionary Group, with a base in Dubai and suspicion about their ties with the current regime in power in Barcelona.
La Liga is reportedly investigating the case, with possibly serious consequences for Barcelona's ability to sign players. They are suspicious that, just like Barca Vision, for which Barcelona sold shares of a value of € 200 million, but only managed to bring in € 55 million, this could be too good to be true.
Nevertheless, according to relevant, and as confirmed by Marca, Laporta can be found in the middle -east, looking for investments. Accompanied by board members Joan Soler and Xavi Puig, Laporta is in Dubai to explore further opportunities, with the latter explaining that Laporta could pack more of Barcelona's VIP chairs in the renovated Camp Nou, earlier described as one of the great drivers of Verhoelde income from the new stadium.
With Barcelona reportedly more than the space in their salary limit less than two months after the sale of the original VIP chairs, Laporta will also look for alternative sponsor opportunities.
