Barcelona reportedly reached an agreement for Ansu Fati to leave the club for the second time, after a difficult campaign under Hansi film. The 22-year-old attacker was largely free of injury this season, but failed to earn a lot in the way of playing time.
Already in March there was Fati's growing frustration with Flick, who left him out of a number of squadrons as a healthy scratch, and despite a fleeting return to action, was on the couch for the last two games of the season with nothing on the line. He has made the decision to leave Barcelona for the second time in search of that playing time, a season after the year in Brighton on loan.
This week it was revealed that Chelsea had appeared as an option for Fati, depending on the conditions of the deal, but it seems that Fati has looked that he wants to move to Monaco. Sport says that Barcelona is desperate to save all his salary of € 6 million next year and working on solutions, although it helps that the tax rate in Monaco is less strict.
However, Cadena Cope says that this solution was found and that the deal will continue on Tuesday or Wednesday. Fati has given the green light to agent Jorge Mendes and left to spend vacation in New York while the case has been resolved. It will be a loan movement with an option to buy around € 20 million. The fact that Monaco manager Adi Hutter has strongly supported the move is also a key factor in his thinking.
In the meantime, one of the goals for director of the football deco is to strengthen the forward line, with Pau Victor expecting to follow Fati out. Luis Diaz is cited as the top choice, but Barcelona also looks at alternatives if they cannot close a deal for the Colombians.
