Barcelona will make another important contract renewal this week, after reaching an agreement in principle with the 20-year-old midfielder Gavi. Gavi comes through at the age of 16 and has become a valuable part of the furniture in the Catalan capital.
Last week Barcelona announced innovations for Gerard Martin, and more importantly, for Ronald Arajo. The latter signed a new contract in the midst of doubts about his future, although a reported release clause of € 65 million leaves the door open for a potential departure in the summer, but committed itself in Barcelona until 2031.
Moreover, an agreement has already been reached with Gavi's midfield partner Pedri to renew his deal for four years. Both he and Gavi no longer had a contract in 2026, and relevant says that both will be announced this week. GAVI will also register until 2030, and unlike ARAUJO, the release clause of € 1B will enforce in his contract. Most negotiations were performed during his recovery after a cross ligament injury in November 2023.
Gavi initially debuted under Ronald Koeman and gradually understood the start XI, where he confirmed his place under Xavi Hernandez in the same season. He would also earn a call-up for the Spanish national team that year.
Last season he became one of the best players of Barcelona under Xavi before his resignation from the brutal injury, who loved him from the Triumph 2024 triumph in Spain. Leafing by Hansi Flick, Gavi started 5 games in the 7 in January and seems to return to his former self. This season he has now made 19 gigs, scored twice and helped at 3 times.
Gavi is reserved to be part of the midfield of Barcelona for the following decade, in addition to Pedri, provided that injuries are good for them. He also had surgery in a number of positions, whether as a left wing player, number 10, a classic 'interior' or part of a deeper pair.
