Barcelona reach contract termination agreement with first team player

Barcelona must keep taking players from their books if they want to register new signing Joan Garcia and Marcus Rashford. And one that will leave before the end of the summer is Oriol Romeu.

Romeu was omitted from the Barcelona team for the tour for the season through Japan and South Korea, after he was told by Hansi Flick that he is still not counting for the coming season. As a result, it is taken for granted that he will leave before the summer transfer window closes at the beginning of September, especially with clubs that are interested in signing it.

Barcelona is willing to have Romeu leave without earning the transfer costs, which underlines the position of the club on which he is not calculated. And this is now further repeated.

According to MD, Romeu will end his Barcelona contract when he has found a new club, with the two parties that are currently still negotiating. Once this has been completed, the 33-year-old will be able to continue his career elsewhere, because he wants a disappointing two-year period behind him.

While his teammates have been in Japan and South Korea, Romeu has done individual work in the Barcelona training complex, and this continued on Tuesday after Flict's Squad that returned to Catalonia after the pre-season Tour. During this period he has shown exemplary professionalism, who has achieved many club officials.

The situation of Romeu is expected to be clarified in the coming weeks. Real Oviedo and Girona are two of the clubs that are currently interested in signing him, and once an agreement has been reached with one of them (or someone else who enters the race), Barcelona is expected to complete a mutual contract termination, allowing him to leave as a free agent.
