Barcelona receive assurances to make Spotify Camp Nou return for El Clasico

Barcelona has been away from the Spotify Camp Nou for 19 months, but they hope to be home again soon – specifically towards the end of the season. However, there are doubts about this event, especially since the return date has already been pushed back several times.

Earlier this week it was reported that Barcelona is considering playing El Clasico outside of Spain, because they are not allowed to play in their current home base of the Estadi Olimpic in May because concerts are held in the stadium. This goes out with fears from the club that the new Spotify Camp is not ready for the end of the season.

However, Barcelona has now received news that some peace of mind will bring. As reported by MD, club sources have revealed that Limak, the construction company is responsible for the Espai Barca project, has given the guarantees that the Spotify Camp Nou is ready to organize competitions in May.

If that happens, this means that Barcelona will be able to play home games against Real Madrid and Villarreal in their home stadium, which would be a big boost. Given that El Clasico could also be a crucial fixture in the La Liga title race, this could make a big difference to the Hansi Flick side.

The return to the Spotify Camp Nou has been related for some time by those in Barcelona. It will enable the club to collect much more MatchDay income, while they will also hope that it will help the first team pursue success. For now they stay with the Estadi Olimpic, although there now seems to be a final date for the trip back home for the Catalans.
