Barcelona is not going to make further signing sessions this summer, so the focus of the club's sports department is on departure. The will of Ansu Fati, Pablo Torre and Pau Victor have already left, but as well as first team stars there are also a desire for La Masia talents to continue – on loan or via a permanent transfer.
Hansi Flick has already identified candidates from La Masia who have the opportunity to secure a place in the first team for next season, with people like Guille Fernandez and DRO in the team for the pre-season tour through Japan and South Korea. A player who missed was Jan Virgili, who could now be ready to leave.
Virgili was very impressive during the UEFA Youth League success of Barcelona last season, and he also stood out during the U19 euro campaign from Spain earlier in the summer. And instead of playing in the fourth level of Spanish football with Barca Atletic, he could be set for his first shot in La Liga – but not with the Catalan giants.
Mallorca has registered their interest in Virgili and according to Sport they have presented a loan offer to Barcelona. Girona has also taken a similar step for the winger, who turned 19 earlier this week.
Barcelona and Mallorca have already done business this summer, with Torre permanently joined Los Bermellones. And he could be quickly accompanied by Virgili, with head coach Jagoba Arrasate who has already spoken with the teenager in the hope of convincing him to make the switch to son Moix.
Mallorca would certainly be a good move for Virgili, who would have a good amount of playing time during the coming season – if he signed, he would replace the regular starter of last season, Robert Navarro.
