Barcelona will continue to entertain offers for their players this summer, but it seems that little has been in the way before the end of the transfer window. After asking for Marc Casado, the latter that offers have arrived for left back Gerard Martin.
As is the case with Casado, Barcelona will not accept or negotiate offer, unless the player makes it clear that they are open to a move. Martin was the subject of an offer of € 15 million from Wolves earlier in the summer, but that movement was canceled because he was not open to it. Sport says that two new offers for Martin have arrived, but the same situation will unfold. Barcelona is not against an exit because they try to illuminate their salary limit problems.
Within the coaching staff there is a reluctance to see Martin leave after the departure of Inigo Martinez. He is ready to cover this season as a fifth central defender, and the Catalan daily believes that he should adjust his game at the center of the backline. Jonger Jofre Torrents, who made his senior debut on Saturday, is the player they want to support in the long term Alejandro Balde, and as such Martin will have to adapt.
Barcelona does not expect any movement before the end of the summer because of Martin's position, but his future can be revised during the transfer window of January. At that moment they will have a better idea of his role in the team.
Of course, Barcelona will have more millions in their salary limit in January, with Marc-Andre ter Stegen coming back from an injury. Although Joan Garcia is said to be registered for the entire season, the less time he is registered under the injury level, the better for Barcelona, because the extra costs are repaid in their salary limit for the following season. Martin himself still has to be registered as a senior player for this season.
