Barcelona had already hoped to be back in the Spotify Camp Nou, but delays meant it was not possible. They now hope to be back in their iconic home stadium in the early stages of next season, and in the meantime a promising update has been released by the club.
Work on the Spotify Camp Nou started in June 2023, and although the entire project will probably not be completed until 2026, the first team could play with a reduced capacity from September. Delays have put things back for Barcelona, but the excitement continues to build for the return and for supporters will at least have increased ten times on Thursday.
That's because Barcelona has released new images that shows the current state of the Spotify Camp Nou.
The grass is now almost completely laid, while considerable progress has been made when installing the seats in the stands. There is still work to do on building the new roof of the iconic arena, but with increased work already underway, the hope is that it should be completed in the coming months.
Barcelona is very eager for their return to the Spotify Camp Nou-Zowel for as off-field reasons. The income from the MatchDay has been seriously reduced since they were temporarily moved to the Estadi Olimpic Lluis company in Montjuic at the beginning of the 2023-24 season, and as a result it has been a struggle for the Catalan club to overcome their well-documented financial problems.
But things have to pick up quickly, although it may not happen before the Summer Transfer 2025 window closes. Nevertheless, Barcelona counts the days until they are back home.
