Barcelona resigned to losing out on Hansi Flick request next summer

Barcelona will be looking to improve the full-back position next summer, with only Alejandro Balde and the converted Jules Kounde as options with significant experience in those areas this season. However, they will have to look at their second choice for the left-back spot.

Despite a strong relationship with Barcelona manager Hansi Flick, Sport say Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies still prefers Real Madrid to the Catalan giants. Los Blancos have been in talks for Davies for some time now, and while Bayern Munich are also doing their best to keep him, Barcelona believe they will lose Davies. The 24-year-old was wanted by Flick and the German coach had hoped to sign him.

This will be encouraging news for Real Madrid, who are expected to complete his signing next summer. The Canadian can sign a provisional contract with Real Madrid as a free agent in just six weeks. Davies has long been a target for Real Madrid, who expressed their interest two years ago.
