Barcelona set for €10m financial boost as Asia friendlies confirmed

In December it was reported that Barcelona would not return to the United States in 2025 for their tour for the season, with Asia instead the destination. Now the confirmation of locations is starting to enter.

After that news is announced that the US would not be their choice of the location for next summer, speculation was maintained about where Barcelona could play pre-season matches. China, Japan and South Korea were driven like possibilities, and now there has been some clarity.

According to MD, Barcelona has signed an agreement with the Korean promotion company D-Drive Corporation to organize four games in Asia, with the idea that two are being played in South Korea and two in Japan.

According to the report, the two friendly matches for the season in South Korea Barcelona will bring an estimated reimbursement of € 10 million. One of the matches is expected to be against the K-League All-Stars, with whom Atletico Madrid was confronted during their last tour through the East Asian country. In the meantime, the other luminaire is probably against a European giant, although there are limited options because the Club World Cup is played in the United States in June and July.

Barcelona was not eligible for the new format of 32 teams after a disappointing quarter -final exit in last season's Champions League. They have lost a very good sum of money and they try to make that shortage with these friendly competitions in Asia.

In recent years there has been a classico for the season between Barcelona and Real Madrid in the United States, but this is a match that will not happen in 2025 because of the involvement of Los Blancos at the Club World Cup. That would have been a profitable competition for the Catalans, but that is not the case.
