Barcelona had been a patonema mate with star defender Ronald Arajo for the best part of a year when Juventus' interest arrived in January, and only a week later the Uruguayan had closed a new deal. Yet it did not completely stop talking about his future. Sports director Deco has admitted that he could leave if he was not happy.
The Blaugrana closed a new deal with Arajo suddenly after conversations between Deco and the Uruguayan defender, but it has also been reported that he has a number of exit clauses in his new deal. Some claim that he could leave up to only € 65 million in the summer, although there is a debate or that also includes Champions League clubs.
Speaking with TV3, Deco explained that if Araujo told them he was not happy, he could leave.
“You can't have a player who is not happy. It will be a problem for the team. There are times when you may not play and it is difficult to manage. We talked about it with him and he was happy. If he has to change in the future, he will open the door to tell us. I don't think he wants that. If not, he would not have been renewed. I think he will stay for many years. '
Araujo came back from his injury and was immediately thrown back into the fight and played in the Spanish Supercup against Real Madrid.
