Barcelona star in the dark over exit date and destination

Barcelona goalkeeper Inaki Pena still has no idea when, or if, he will leave the Catalan giants in the coming weeks.

Pena is on track to leave since the beginning of 2025, after Hansi Flick's decision to drop him as the first choice in January, as Wojciech Szczesny took over.

The call caused frustration because Pena felt unfairly treated by Flick's attitude towards Szczesny, and it decided effectively that he wanted to leave.

The situation has become further complicated this summer after the arrival of Joan Garcia as new No. 1 of Flick.

The contract extension of Szczesny means that the Polish veteran in the plans of Flick and Marc-Andre ter Stegen will remain in the club until at least January.

Ter Stegen has resolved his row with the club about releasing his medical reports to La Liga, to register Garcia, but if he is suitable again later this year, he will still be for Pena.

Previous reports had indicated that Pena might be forced to stay, if the Garcia situation was not resolved, but that barrier has now been adopted.

The Cesc Fabregas como is linked to a bid, but due to delays at the end of Barcelona they consider other options.

According to Marca, the lack of ratification for Szczesny as a LA Liga player remains the last blockade for Pena to leave, where the paperwork is still missing.

The club has worked overtime to have last -minute registrations sort, with Garcia and Marcus Rashford the last to be signed, but if Szczesny stays in the cold, it can make things more difficult for Pena.

Diego Kochen was mentioned on the bench for Barcelona's opening profit from the campaign in Mallorca, but Pena is a senior, and that could give the balance.

Two offers stay on the table from Turkey, but Pena may have to wait until the last moment to get a ticket from Barcelona.
